The auIGF 2024 Position Paper is a new initiative in 2024. The aim is to test and ascertain community consensus around an issue of concern for the Australian internet community.
For 2024, the inaugural Position Paper outlines key issues that the auIGF Multi-Stakeholder Steering Committee (MSSC) believes should be considered in the upcoming twenty year review of the World Summit on the Information Society - known as WSIS+20.
This document serves as a foundation for discussion at the auIGF and afterwards as a position on the issue that can be referred back to.
Consultation process
The Policy Position paper was considered and discussed at a public meeting of the Australian Internet Community at the Australian Internet Governance Forum (auIGF) 2024 held in Melbourne, Australia and online over 28-29 October 2024. The final version received general consensus at the open Townhall on Tuesday 29 October.
If you have any questions about the process, please contact the Secretariat.
A Food for Thought paper was prepared by members of the auIGF Multi-stakeholder Steering Committee (MSSC). It includes some of the perceived problems and potential solutions that have been identified by internet governance commentators in recent years.
Following the thought-provoking discussions in our Townhalls, we invite you to contribute to our Food for Thought paper, on the ideas for the evolution of the multistakeholder model, now open for community input. Please submit your input by Friday, 6 December.
