Centrally located in the cultural and entertainment hub of Southbank, along the bank of the Brisbane River, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is a multi-award-winning venue delivering exceptional, world class experiences to a global audience.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is located on Merivale Street and Glenelg Street, South Brisbane. The location and access map can be downloaded here.
Public transport:
A comprehensive network of trains, buses and city cats (ferries) link the Centre with Brisbane city and suburbs.
Translink tickets are the best way to visit and travel around the city. The Translink website contains more details.
The closest train station is South Brisbane; only a few minutes walk away.
There is a dedicated taxi rank located at the main entrance of the Centre on the Cnr Merivale and Glenelg Streets.
Taxi:
Taxi ranks are located outside the main entrance to the Centre on Merivale Street and a taxi drop off located at the Convention Centre Grey Street entrance.
Driving:
To get to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre by car, take the Pacific Motorway and exit at the South Brisbane/Ipswich Road exit.
Parking:
There are 1,500 secure undercover parking spaces operated by the venue, accessed by Merivale Street. For more information about parking & rates click here.
From Brisbane Airport:
Both Brisbane domestic and international airports are 30min drive from the Centre.
The AirTrain connects South Brisbane station to Brisbane’s international and domestic airports with stops in the Brisbane CBD and Fortitude Valley. Tickets and a timetable for this service can be found at the venue’s Information Desk, or you can pre-book on the AirTrain Website.
All items found or handed into the Centre are kept and logged by the venue’s onsite Security team. To inquire about lost items you can call 07 3308 3000 or fill out the general enquiry form on the BCEC website.
The BCEC strives to provide safe, equitable and inclusive access for all visitors. The NetThing Organising Committee will make every effort to accommodate attendees of the event to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for all.

In the event of an emergency, please wait for direction and instruction from members of the BCEC staff or for a PA announcement to be made.
Frontline staff are trained to respond to emergency situations. BCEC staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm or other emergency. If the Centre has to be evacuated public address system announcements will be made and audible alarms will sound.

COVID-19 information correct as of April 2022.
According to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) COVID-19 policy, visitors are no longer required to check in or have proof of vaccination status to access the venue.
APrIGF and the BCEC continues to promote safe COVID-19 practices and are committed to providing a safe environment for attendees.
Sanitisation stations are located throughout the centre, strict cleaning regimens are followed, and visible signage can be found encouraging good hand hygiene and crowd etiquette.

There are several accommodation options near the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC), ranging from budget-friendly to luxurious hotels.
There are over 50 hotels within close proximity to the venue. Visit the BCEC website to search their comprehensive list of recommended accommodation.

Wireless internet is provided free to delegates. To access the WIFI service please use the BCEC WIFI, no password required.

NetThing is free to attend. However, so we have accurate numbers to provide the venue for room capacity and catering purposes, you will need to register via the online portal.
NetThing 2023 is being held in conjunction with the APrIGF. The Pacific IGF and Youth IGF are also being held during the same week.
You do not have to attend the other events if you do not wish to, though you are more than welcome to.
